Autumn Term 2020 - Face-To-Face (In-Centre) Lessons

September 4, 2020

To all Parents and Carers

We are delighted to be welcoming you back to the Bloomfield Learning Centre for a face to face lesson, after so many months of virtual teaching. We very much hope that everyone stays healthy and we can complete the autumn term with minimum disruption.

To this end, we are introducing a number of safety measures, aimed at keeping everyone safe.

1. There may not be a receptionist at the Munro Clinic, which means the teacher will need to come downstairs and let you in. Please make sure you have her mobile number with you, in case she doesn’t hear the doorbell, and you need to ring her for access.

2. It is compulsory for adults and children aged over 12 years, to wear a mask in all communal parts of the building. Please remember to bring one with you.

3. On arrival at the Centre, your teacher will take your child’s and your own temperature, as well as her own (for your peace of mind), using a no-touch forehead scanning thermometer.

4. The former waiting room is currently in use as an assessment room. Parents will be shown into one of the teaching rooms to wait during their child’s lesson. Only members from one household will be seated in each room.

5. Please use hand sanitizer when you come in to the Bloomfield Centre – this is available at the entrance to the assessment room, on Jane’s desk, straight in front of the door and in every teaching room.

6. Please don’t bring your child into the Bloomfield if they are absent from school, or if they, or any member of your family, have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid in the previous 14 days.

7. If your child exhibits Covid-like symptoms or is otherwise required to self-isolate, please notify us as soon as possible.

8. If, for any reason, your child is unable to attend a face to face session, their teacher will do their best to provide an alternative Zoom teaching session, arranged at a time to suit both parties.

9. The Centre is equipped with screens, masks and visors, to minimize the risk of infection. Please let your teacher know if you would like her to wear a visor.

10. Every pupil will be given their own pencil case and writing materials. All materials and equipment will be wiped down with disinfectant wipes, in between teaching sessions.

Jason and Jane will be in the Centre for one day/week each. If you have any queries or concerns and they are not around, please e-mail Jason or phone Jane. Contact details can be found on the home page.
