  • Book a Diagnostic Assessment

  • Our Assessments

A diagnostic teacher assessment will identify the strengths and weaknesses in your child's learning profile and give a diagnosis of the difficulties where appropriate. The results will show why your child is struggling and our assessor will be able to advise on the most effective ways to help. This might include special work for use in school and at home or, if your child has dyslexia, we might recommend specialist literacy teaching with a qualified dyslexia teacher.

    • An initial discussion with the parent(s)…

…to go more in-depth as to the history with literacy, education, and any other relevant family and medical information.

    • The assessment will be 1-on-1…

… and will take approximately 2.5 hours. The assessor will conduct this 1 on 1. The assessment will be varied and multi-sensory.

    • Receive immediate feedback…

…from the assessor who will discuss general findings, as well as some practical learning and teaching recommendations. These will be more specific and extensive in the report received within 3 weeks.

    • The deep understand and the first hand experience of all the staff has helped us as a family understand that dyslexia requires a different attitude and method for teaching children. It has helped us and our child believe that they can achieve their full potential by using a different approach to learning.

    • When things were continually not going well at school and my child was seen as trouble and needing to spend the rest of his school life in a pupil referral unit, the Bloomfield gave us hope.

      Maryam, December 2016
    • My son did not trust adults and became resistant to learning. He attended the Bloomfield where the teachers are so skilled and child focused they broke down these barriers to enable him to begin to learn.

      Mary, February 2017
    • We have a meeting with the school next week but I can’t thank you enough for your excellent assessment and words of encouragement and support. As you saw it was as much of a relief for George as us. We cannot thank you enough.

      Karen and Geoff, June 2017
    • For Greg the Bloomfield has made the difference from a child with low self esteem to a child that is able to access and decipher the world around them.
