News Spring 2025
We know that lots of our pupils find reading challenging because that’s why the Bloomfield is here – to make the challenge easier. People with dyslexia are unique. They learn differently and often need lots of practice. The Bloomfield team are constantly impressed by our pupils’ hard work and resilience. With this in mind, we started the term with the question “Why do we learn to read?”
We’re really impressed by your answers.
Badu “So I can read Manga and understand stuff”
Kacey “If you want to get somewhere you need to be able to read the signs and you need to be able to read so that you can enjoy comic books”
Urannia “It helps our brain get better. When you read a lot it will help you with your vocabulary”
Robert “To learn words and their meaning and in the future it will be easier for me to become an astronaut and visit the moon.”

Naia “So that you can learn stuff for yourself”

Congratulations to some of our amazing pupils!
Congratulations to Donal’s pupil, Sampson. He won the Eastbourne Pier Fishing Competition on a freezing night in December. Not only was he the youngest competitor but he caught the most fish and won top prize !

Congratulations to Zoe’s pupil, Evan. He’s been given a place in a theatre workshop with the Handlebards, because he is a top performing scholar at school.
For those who don’t know; The Handlebards are a troupe of cycling Shakespearian actors who travel the country performing.
